Here are exciting times ahead for one of the midland's most recognisable entertainers as LARISSA TORMEY releases a new single, prepares to be a featured artist on country radio in the U.K., and reveals details of what will be a very special night for her fans.

With Larissa's new single, a remix of her song, Inner Angel, now at radio and available on all the usual digital platforms, this week saw the announcement that Larissa will be featured as UKCountryRadio.com's 'Spotlight U.K. Artist' for the entire weekend of February 28th to March 1st. And this means that listeners are in for real treat. Almost every hour, from just after 5pm on Friday the 28th until just before 9pm that Sunday, the station will be playing one of Larissa's songs from a back catalogue that now numbers four full-length collections, plus her Inner Angel EP. Larissa has been busy in the studio over the last few months, meaning there's also a brand new album on the cards for later in 2020.

Indeed, this is shaping up to be quite a year for the performer, as Larissa has also revealed the first details of what is certain to be a very special night for the songstress and her fans. Larissa will be hosting her first ever solo concert in Ireland, 'Larissa - Live in Concert', at the Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate on April 29th. Looking ahead to the event, Larissa confessed that, having been a regularly performing solo artist in her native Russia, she has been longing to make a return to the stage in her adopted homeland.

"There's something about the magic of being on stage that nothing else in the world can compare to. That's a feeling that every performer will know and understand. And it's not like I've been quiet since coming to Ireland! [laughs]. But there's always just something extra-special about performing at your own concert, seeing your own name on the posters. Of course, this also means that all of the worries and details about putting on a show are yours, too! [laughs]. But those will be forgotten the moment you step on stage and start to sing your first song. And that's the moment I will be dreaming of between now and April 29th."

The popular singer/songwriter has never been shy when it comes to what some people might call taking risks. Some might even refer to her tendency to venture down the proverbial path less chosen as going 'against the grain.' But for Larissa, the truth is far less dramatic. The Russian-born, Kilbeggan-based artist is simply being herself. And yes, taking risks and forging her own path is definitely a hallmark of her style. Her latest release typifies this. It's something you don't often - if ever - hear of on the Irish country scene, a remix! But then again, there aren't too many entertainers like Larissa, either. What Larissa has done is take the beautiful title track from her innovative acoustic EP, Inner Angel, and take it back into the studio to give it a country re-working,

The Inner Angel EP was originally released towards the back end of 2019, and as well as the moving title track, featured Larissa's take on Sade's iconic Your Love Is King, an equally emotive rendering of Ewan McColl's The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Shallow from 'A Star Is Born', and completely out of left field, a gentle treatment of Tender by Britpop giants Blur. But such was the reaction to the song Inner Angel - from Larissa's own pen, by the way - that she couldn't help but wonder how the track would sound if given a more distinctly 'country' feel, rather than simply an acoustic one.

The result is that what was already a love-song for the ages, now has everything you could think of to become an epic cross-over, eternally heart-string pulling smash hit. Inner Angel - the remix - is a made for the movies ballad that edges Larissa further into the triple-threat territory of singer, songwriter, and producer.
